How to get started

Deciding to file bankruptcy can be a tough decision. Almost everyone confronting the decision vacillates between “Fight” and “Flee”. You either continue the struggle to pay the debts or finally decide it’s time to get rid of the financial pressure and start over.

Basically, if your unsecured debt such as credit cards, medical bills, loans, student loans, etc. total more than 1/3 of your annual income, then you’ll never pay off the debt and bankruptcy is your best option.

To get started, call our office at 303 955-7570 and speak with one of our attorneys who will do a cursory review to see if bankruptcy truly is your best option. If so, then you’ll schedule a free consultation with an attorney who will do a thorough review and plan your case.

To help expedite the process, please bring the following:

• Last six months of paystubs or profit-and-loss statement if you’re self employed;
• Last two years of state and federal tax returns including W2’s and 1099’s;
• One most recent copy of each debt: mortgage, car loans, credit cards, loans, medical bills, etc.;
• Your most recent retirement statement for a 401(k), IRA, pension, other retirement accounts, and life insurance;
• Divorce decree, if you have been divorced in the past six years;
• Current credit report – https://www.annualcreditreport.com; and
• Any collection or attorney letters or lawsuits regarding a debt.

If you don’t have all documents available, don’t worry and still plan to come for your free initial consultation.
